Farmers in Mozambique recently took part in a SPARK Agri-Lab, which brought together people with disabilities, facilitators, and design experts to find sustainable agricultural solutions, including assistive technology. Here, they are creating higher and more accessible storage for grain and produce, to prepare for floods and cyclones.

CapAble wins Zero Project Award for promoting inclusive education for African universities

A project to put disability inclusion into action in higher education has been awarded a prestigious prize.

Jean François Bouda, a doctor in law, who teaches at the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, is examined by Professor Zabsonre. The exam reveals that he has 40 percent and 60 percent of vision in each of his eyes. “If I am not careful, I may gradually lose the use of my eyes” he says. “I will follow my treatment scrupulously, respect the appointments and follow the prescriptions as recommended.
