Expert in inclusive education

Rediet, who is based in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, has 15 years’ experience of inclusive education in academic and community development programmes.

She has worked at Bahir Dar University for more than 18 years and was involved in establishing the institution’s Department of Inclusive Education. She has also supported the establishment of the parents’ association of children with intellectual disabilities in the Amhara region.

Driven to be a catalyst for positive change, Rediet will focus on the development and quality of Light for the World’s Inclusive Education programmes across the countries where we work.

Rediet says: “I am honoured to serve as a Senior Expert in Inclusive Education at Light for the World. I firmly belief in the transformative power of inclusive education, to unlock the potential of every individual.”

Expert in economic empowerment

Faustina, who is based in Nairobi, Kenya, has 13 years’ experience designing and leading inclusive economic empowerment programmes across Africa.

Faustina most recently served as Lead Consultant for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses at WYLDE International, supporting African enterprises to scale. She has also worked as an Investor Readiness Coach and Mentor for the Graça Machel Trust, supporting women- and youth-led enterprises to access finance and tell their stories with clarity and confidence.

Passionate about co-creating and advocating for transformative people-centred solutions, Faustina will focus on shaping Light for the World’s Economic Empowerment activities, including expanding access to decent work for people with disabilities.

Faustina says: “I am excited to join Light for the World as Senior Expert in Economic Empowerment. For me, economic inclusion is being brave and bold enough to unlock real possibilities for others to thrive.”

Welcome to Light for the World, Rediet and Faustina!
