Following Cyclone Idai in Mozambique earlier this year on the 15th of March, Light for the World, with funding from UNICEF, launched a study to review the access to humanitarian aid for men, girls and boys with disabilities affected by this natural disaster which resulted in practical recommendations based on hard facts. By making our society inclusive and see people with disabilities as part of our society, equal to any other and with their own specific needs, these heart-breaking numbers of perishing humans after hazardous situations will rapidly decline. Someone is not disabled because they cannot see or hear, but because society excludes them. As casualties are rising across the globe due to ineffective humanitarian aid to people with disabilities.
