Mr. Wolfgang Gindorfer is a Ugandan based specialist originating from Germany with more than 30 years of overseas experience. Since May 2007 Mr. Gindorfer has been working as a senior consultant on programme development, uncorrected refractive errors and more recently on school eye health with a strong focus on Uganda and the focal countries of LIGHT FOR THE WORLD.
Mr. Gindorfer has served as Secretary of the Task Force on uncorrected refractive errors (URE) and school eye health (SEH) for the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) from November 2007 till February 2016. Since 2016 he serves as full Member of the Committee on Training Teams of the ICO where his vast overseas experience with eye care teams feeds in. He is also an advisor to the Ministry of Health in Uganda on URE and SEH, Member of its technical team and Member of the Prevention of Blindness Committee.
