Training: Disability Inclusive IDP Camps in South Sudan
Light for the World will hold a five day Training of Trainers from 13-17th of March, 2017.
Is your organisation able to meet the minimum standards for disability inclusion from the SPHERE guidelines?
Do people with disabilities have equal access to the IDP Camp services and programmes of your organisation?
In this capacity building programme you will learn what practical steps to take to include people with disabilities in the IDP camp services and programmes of your organisation.
The capacity building programme is open for development and humanitarian organisations that:
- are active in the IDP camps in South Sudan
- are willing to build up the capacity of their own staff on disability inclusion
- are motivated to make their IDP Camp services and programmes disability inclusive
- are willing to appoint two staff members that have time to participate in the training of trainers session, the learning and sharing sessions and have the time and skills to train their colleagues on disability inclusion.
There is space for a maximum of 12 organisations.
This capacity building programme is financed and organised by Light for the World. Participation of two participants in the training of trainers sessions organized in Juba will be free of charge. Light for the World will cover expenses (most economical travel, accommodation, meals, materials) for two staff members to participate in the Training of Trainers and the learning & sharing sessions. The participating organisations will be responsible for the costs related to organising staff training within their own organisations and for any costs that need to be made to make their programmes disability inclusive.
