Martin Filipec is a leading ophthalmologist in his native Czech Republic with an international reputation built on more than 25 years of work as a surgeon and researcher in Charles University and Lexum Eye Clinic in Prague. After studying in France and Harvard Medical School he qualified as a professor in Prague where he served as a chairman at the University Eye Clinic and establish one of the first country’s private eye hospital, Lexum Eye Clinic. Professor Filipec is specialized in refractive surgery, in corneal transplants and was the first eye surgeon to perform corneal grafting in Afghanistan in 2006. He is Chief Medical Director of Lexum/Optegra Clinic in Czech Republic and also a medical consultant at the Advanced VisionCare Clinic in London and chairman of the board of LIGHT FOR THE WORLD Czech Republic.
